Speculations were rife on Saturday, July 25, after a section of Kenyans indicated that there was heavy security presence at the Lee Funeral Home.
Trending at number one on Twitter for the better part of Saturday, some Kenyans speculated that it was the late Wendy Muthoni, a daughter to Water, Sanitation and Irrigation CS Sicily Kariuki, who was being evacuated from the facility.
Others, on the other hand, wondered if the alleged commotion at the funeral home had anything to do with reports of former president Mwai Kibaki’s demise.
However, Kibaki reports have been dismissed as rumors.
Further, highly placed sources at Lee Funeral Home, also dispelled rumors that there was presence of heavy security early Saturday morning.
“Those are just rumours, there is nothing here to do with security officers,” a source stated.
The speculations stemmed from the fact that the funeral home is known for being the default mortuary where the bodies of influential and rich Kenyans are preserved after their demise.
