With the appointment of Colonel (Rtd) Cyrus Odhiambo Oguna as the Gvt spokesperson, it is not a surprise to find that he qualifies for the position.
A career Military officer, Colonel (Rtd) Cyrus Odhiambo Oguna has held various positions relating to the management of personnel, operations, training and communications with the Kenya Défense forces and the Government.
Before his appointment Colonel (RTD) Oguna served as a Joint National and Resource Mapping Project Spokesman. Before this, he served as Defence Advisor/Attaché at Kenya’s High Commission in the United Republic of Tanzania between 2014 and 2017.
Colonel (RTD) Oguna is more known for his role as the in-charge of Kenya Defence Public Affairs Office and Spokesman for the KDF at the onset of Operation Linda Nchi, a position he held for 3 years, between 2011 – 2013.
During his time as spokesman for KDF, Colonel (Rtd) Oguna can best be remembered fpr constantly keeping the country informed on the operations of the gallant officers in capturing Kismayo. Prior to this, Colonel (Rtd) Oguna headed KDF’s Intelligence Training School.
Colonel Oguna holds a master of Arts degree, from the University of Nairobi and is Currently pursuing a second Masters degree on International Studies from the same institution. He is also a graduate of the National Défense College, Kenya.
Colonel (Rtd) is married with two children.
