The Kenya County Government Workers Union released a seven-day strike notice regarding the delayed wages resulting from the impasse on the Revenue Division bill.

Secretary-General Roba Duba of the union vowed what he described as a “complete paralysis of all Monday county facilities” unless employees are paid by Monday.

ADVERTISEMENT “Workers are not party to the Revenue Division conflict, so any delay is illegal and unacceptable,” he said Tuesday at a Nairobi news conference.

Ouma Oluga, Secretary-General of the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Union, encouraged the government to take the notice seriously to prevent chaos.

The notice came even as the Senate held government hearings on the version of the contentious Bill that seeks to allocate Sh316 billion to counties by the National Assembly.
