Betty Kyalo has resigned from Mediamax’s K24, 2 years after she joined the media house. It was believed that she was part of the team that would lift the station. Unfortunately, that did not happen.
After anchoring the news, as usual on Saturday, the anchor took it to thank her viewers of the support given so far.
“I really appreciate you all. It is now time for me to say goodbye here on K24 TV. Thank you so much for all the support, I appreciate you, God bless you and I love you,” she said.
For a while now, betty who had redirected her energy on her Youtube channel had asked her viewers to be stunned on the day for they are not sure about tomorrow.
It is now clear that betty may have left the company due to the previous tussles they had with the employer after the circulation of a memo intending to slice employees’ salaries due to the current coronavirus pandemic.
Betty was among the 36 employees who went to court and successfully obtained orders to stop the salary cuts.
Mediamax has also announced plans to layoff employees whose positions might not have to have an impact, this had been feared that the media house might cut shot a lot of people.
Betty becomes the third senior employee to leave the station over salary cuts after Head of TV and Digital Peter Opondo and Head of Commercial Caroline Mwangi.
