President Uhuru Kenyatta is one of the top public officials attending the funeral of renowned Benga musician John De Mathew at the rural house of the late sensational singer in Mukurwe-ini, county of Murang’a.

Accompanied by Deputy President William, Kenyatta is among domestic rulers set to pay their final respects to De Mathew, who played the main role in both his presidential campaigns in 2013 and 2017.

The event will also be attended by Secretaries of the Cabinet Mwangi Kiunjuri, James Macharia, Amina Mohamed, and Joe Mucheru.

On Sunday night last week, De Mathew was engaged in a deadly road accident. An autopsy performed by pathologist Dorothy Njeru disclosed that in the Sunday night accident, the Benga musicians died of internal bleeding.
