Tech multinational HP has named a new chairman and chief executive after four years of occupying the corner office, current incumbent Dion Weisler steps down as CEO.

HP said the choice of Weisler to step down is due to a family health issue in a press statement. “He’s going to return back to Australia,” said the California, USA-based firm.

The Chairman of the HP Board of Directors Chip Bergh said, “On behalf of the board, we respect Dion’s choice to promote his family’s requirements.”

HP said that outgoing CEO Weisler will remain at the company until January 2020 working with Lores so as to ensure a seamless transition. “Following this, Weisler will continue to serve on HP’s board of directors until the next annual meeting of stockholders.”
