Today was a smartphone showdown in the country as two technology giants launched their latest devices in the country, Samsung launched the Samsung Galaxy S10 while Huawei launched the Y6 2019 which will be retailing at 13,499Ksh.
Y6 2019 is the second mid range device to be unveiled by the company (Huawei ) this year after the recent device the Y7 Prime 2019 that performed well.
“The Y7 Prime 2019 saw the company surpass expectations after making a sale target of over 5000 devices within a month,” a press statement sent out quoted.
This might have been triggered by the aggressive marketing that Huawei inducted recently starting with the launch of the previous device the Y9 in the country. The success has also been facilitated by partnerships with different brands like the Lipa later a credit company that gives electronic devices and allows one to pay on a monthly instalment which the strategy will also be applied on the new Y6 Prime 2019.
The Y6 Prime 2019 comes with a 13MP rear camera while the front camera comes with an 8MP. This might not be the best as we have seen more powerful devices in the market however, the device assures smarter beautification algorithms and also for the price it is worth it.
At the launch Mr Stephen Li, who is the head of East Africa Mobile acknowledged the customers demands and assured Huawei’s commitment when it comes to satisfying this demands.
“Thanks to the continued support by the Kenyan consumers, as we launch the Huawei Y6 today, we are putting it out for pre-order for the next two weeks.” He quoted
Huawei has also paid attention when it comes to the design of the device where it has built the Y6 2019 to be sleek, rounded and shaped to fit the screen perfectly which works better compared to other devices in the market.
