The Government has decided to appoint Colonel (Red) Cyrus Odhiambo as the new government spokesperson to replace Erick Kiraithe who over time has been vital on the role for 3 years.
It is not clear why the drastic change was made, however, in a statement to the media houses today stated that the powers have been supported by the president and the ministry.
Kiraithe previously served as the police spokesperson before he was transferred to KAA where he took the position of the GM for Security Services.
Colonel Oguna is a household name when it comes to military presentation where he has previously served. In 2011, he was in Somalia during the Linda Inchi Operation which later KDF handled communication for African Union Mission in Somalia (Amsiom)
The retired colonel joins a long list of military and intelligence servicemen who have recently been given strategic jobs in President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration.
